Voice of America is a multimedia broadcaster, attracting a multimillion international audience per week around the globe. It is comprised of 40 language services and covers radio, TV, internet and social media platforms.

The VOA Georgian Service was established on May 26, 1951. Its radio broadcasts were increased to one hour daily in August 2008, and TV affiliation was launched in November 2010.

Currently, VOA Georgian broadcasts one-hour daily radio programs to a target audience of approximately 4.5 million in Georgia via FM Network-1 of Georgia Public Broadcaster, shortwave, satellite, and the Internet. Its weekly TV show also plays out on Georgian Public TV-Channel 1 and features main U.S. developments of political and social content, as well as cultural material on diaspora-related issues. VOA Georgian TV program and video reports are available for viewing through the Service's website and social media.

In addition, the Service provides its radio affiliate with a weekly wrap of major news events during local morning rush hour in Tbilisi on Wednesdays. The Service's news programs focus on U.S. and international news as well as U.S._georgia relations. Popular VOA Georgian radio programs feature discussions on contemporary political and social issues and medical/science news. Other program segments include Women's program and pieces on jazz/art, education and youth. Additionally, stringers from Tbilisi and Gori (Georgia) as well as Brussels file reports on political developments, economic and social environment, and plight of refugees on a regular basis.
